Sorry Matt, it was really a flying visit for a mate's wedding. If I'd had more than about ten minutes to spare on the weekend, I would have been in touch. I did manage to fit in the other brewpubs in Freo on that one morning though. And a little bit of Swan Valley. More coverage to come.

I've never been able to look at cider since my teens but I should give it another go.

Mate, should have let me know you were heading over... I love an excuse to head down to Freo and soak up the scenery at Little Creatures... Monday morning or not... it was my summer institution for frequent and sustained lubrication.

Incidentally, the Loft next door wasn't built by Little Creatures. It's existed in many forms in the past as your generic by the water bar for teenagers and bogans to get pissed in. Last incarnation I believe was called Zanzibar... The Loft is a much more relaxed and welcoming experience... despite the name.

I can't really comment on the beer because I don't drink it, but personally the Pipsqueek is probably my favourite Australian commercial cider around.

I wish them well on their ever expanding ventures as long as they don't ever change.

Cheers, Austin. The spot was on my lens. I couldn't be bothered photoshopping it out.

That trick that you mentioned (shooting pano shots in portrait rather than landscape) is the best photo thing that I've learnt this year. I should read your photo blog more often.

Nice pano, Phil, although judging by the second pic it looks like you may have a dust spot on your sensor cover!

I miss that kind of beer so much... I think I already told you that I tried Little Creatures in Melbourne and really enjoyed it, almost as much as Mirror Pond Pale Ale--my favourite beer from home.
