That said, at the moment I'm using the same sharp, if noisy, Tamron zoom everyone else uses on their Canon 350 and 400ds, and it's remarkably useful. Also, buy yourself a flash. Trust me, you will never look back. I'm lost without my 580ex at the moment. Mazeltov! Go the 30mm prime.
