At least it is, if you believe in the power of mob-driven restaurant reviewing and search Google Maps for the worst food in the city. Welcome to social media hell, Melbourne restauranteurs. Try litigating against that moving target.

have you eaten at any of these and how does it come up with that list?

It’s generated by Google’s magic algorithm. Yes, I’ve eaten at several of these places – and I doubt that any of those warrant the title of worst food in Melbourne.

“Worst food” is a lazy search that produces lazy results. Rubbish in = rubbish out. What are you trying to achieve with this post? Clicking through to Kanela on Johnston St reveals mostly positive reviews. http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=worst+food&sll=-37.805613,144.98507&sspn=0.022141,0.04137&ie=UTF8&t=h&ei=n7l_SvuyJ5WMsAOex8DjAw&radius=1.13&ev=p&jsv=170f&vps=5&latlng=1408629070986802482&cd=7&dtab=2

I think that’s my point exactly, although part of my motivation was to see how quickly I could hit the Google front page for an “x food in Melbourne” search. Sure “worst food in Melbourne” isn’t worth much, but “Chinese food in Melbourne” is worth plenty.

Not if you talked about the worst food in Paris… I could direct you to a little resturant just off the Rue de Dauphine where I had cold yellow courgettes which started out in life as bright green, a disgusting tasting and looking tomato sauce – a bit schizophrenic in its half hot, half cold state of being and dried out, shrivelled orange segments…. shall I go on (http://www.kitchenbutterfly.com/distant-lands/paris/#Ate) see for yourself!

Laughable main dish sizes and price. I was very embarassed to bring my 2 international guests to dine here. Of the food that we received, no one was blown away by the quality.

Golden Dragon Manningham Road Templestowe. Terrible service, awful food. Had the ‘banquet’ at $65 per head, 3 beers and a pina colada. Nearly $300. 00
